Carob Powder is a product of vegetable origin coming from the pods of naturally growing carob trees. The carob pods are crushed, the husk is then separated from the seeds and roasted using a process which improves both the organoleptic quality and the aspect of the product. The roasted husk is then ground to obtain a powder. Carob pod contains high value substances like polyphenols and rare sugars. It doesn’t contain any gluten according to the EC regulation.
Due to the increasing demand and prices of high-quality cocoa powder, carob powder can be seen as an effective anti-allergen substitute for any processed product containing cocoa powder.
